Today, we turn this durable, natural resin into wearable art.

  2. Basisfestigung: Ramie-Gewebe, das in Rohlack getränkt ist, umhüllt die Basis und wird dreimal natürlich gehärtet – mit der richtigen Pflege können Lackstücke Jahrhunderte überdauern – ein Beweis für die bemerkenswerte Haltbarkeit dieses alten Materials.
  3. Grundierungen: 3-5 Schichten Rohlack werden von Hand aufgetragen. Jede Schicht härtet natürlich in einem raumklimatisierten Raum (20℃, 65% Luftfeuchtigkeit) aus, wobei die Handwerker oft Schwellungen durch Lackempfindlichkeit erleiden.

Base Reinforcement: Ramie cloth soaked in raw lacquer wraps the base, cured naturally three times—With proper care, lacquer pieces can endure for centuries—a testament to this ancient material’s remarkable durability. Priming Coats: 3-5 layers of raw lacquer are applied by hand. Each layer cures naturally in a humidity-controlled room (20℃, 65% humidity), with artisans often enduring swelling from lacquer sensitivity. Artistic Creation: Techniques like plain lacquering, inlay, and gold painting are used. For mother-of-pearl pieces, 0.1mm shell fragments are precisely placed—each piece a test of the artisan’s skill. Fine Polishing: Sandpaper ranging from 2000 to 5000 grit is used gradually. Too little, and patterns fade; too much, and all work is lost—experience guides every stroke.
