LacLume Shipping & Refund Policy

This policy applies to all orders placed through LacLume's official store. By placing an order, you agree to the following terms regarding shipping, taxes, and returns.

1. Order Processing Time

At LacLume, we prioritize efficient order handling. All orders are processed within 2 business days.

  • Note: Processing does not occur on weekends or Chinese public holidays.

  • During peak seasons (e.g., Black Friday), please allow an additional 2-3 business days. We will notify you via email if any significant delays occur.

2. Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates

Our shipping rates are calculated to provide the best balance of speed and cost.

  • Standard Shipping: $6.00 (Free on orders over $50.00) | Delivery: 6-10 business days.

  • Priority Express Shipping: $19.99 (Skip the queue) | Delivery: 3-5 business days.

  • Free Shipping: Automatically applied to orders $50.00 and above.

3. Shipping Carriers & Logistics

All shipments are dispatched directly from our production base in China to ensure the freshest selection of our heritage pieces.

  • USA: Shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx depending on the service level selected.

  • UK: Shipped via International Express (7-15 business days) or DPD UK for domestic transit.

  • Full Tracking: A tracking number will be provided for all orders once dispatched.

4. Customs, Duties & VAT (Important)

LacLume does not collect VAT or Import Duties at checkout. * Tax Exclusive: All product prices shown on our website are exclusive of taxes and duties.

  • Customer Responsibility: In accordance with local regulations (especially for UK/EU customers), any VAT, customs duties, or handling fees imposed by your country’s customs authorities are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

  • For UK orders, please be aware that packages may be held by Royal Mail or DPD until the VAT/Duty is paid.

5. Heritage Lacquerware & Mystery Jar Special Notes

  • Lacquerware Protection: Our handcrafted lacquerware is extremely durable but requires careful transit. We use premium 360° air-column shockproof packaging. Please inspect these pieces immediately upon arrival.

  • Mystery Jar Nature: Our jars are "Blind Box" style products. Each curation is unique. Due to the surprise nature of these items, we do not accept returns or exchanges based on personal style preference or "not liking" the contents once the jar has been opened.

6. Returns & Exchanges

We offer a 30-day return policy under the following conditions:

  • Eligibility: Items must be unused, in their original condition, and in the original packaging with all tags intact.

  • Mystery Jars: Returns are only accepted if the jar is completely sealed and unopened. Once the seal is broken, it is ineligible for return unless the items inside are physically defective.

  • Lacquerware: Handcrafted variations in texture are part of the art and are not considered defects.

7. Return Process

  1. Initiate: Email service@laclume.com with your order number and photos of the item.

  2. Approval: Once approved, we will provide the return address.

  3. Shipping: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the return is due to a product defect or incorrect delivery.

  4. Refund: Refunds will be processed within 5 business days of receiving and inspecting the return. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

8. Damaged or Lost Items

  • Damaged: If your item arrives damaged, please take photos of the packaging and the product immediately and contact us within 48 hours.

  • Lost: If tracking shows "Delivered" but you haven't received it, please check with neighbors/property management first, then contact us within 5 business days.
