Welcome to LacLume! The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to LacLume. LacLume operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the “Services”). LacLume is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

By visiting, interacting with or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

SECTION 1 - ACCESS AND ACCOUNT

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

SECTION 2 - OUR PRODUCTS & ARTISAN NATURE

We have made every effort to provide an accurate representation of our products. However, please note:

  • Color & Appearance: Actual colors may differ due to device settings.

  • Mystery Jar Nature: Our Mystery Jars are "blind box" style products. By purchasing, you acknowledge that the specific selection of jewelry inside each jar is randomized. We do not guarantee the inclusion of specific individual pieces, and the surprise nature of the product is a core part of the service.

  • Lacquerware Craftsmanship: Our Lacquerware items are handcrafted using natural materials. Variations in texture, flow patterns, and minor organic marks are inherent characteristics of this 3,000-year-old heritage craft and are not considered manufacturing defects.

  • Descriptions: All descriptions of products are subject to change at any time without notice.

SECTION 3 - ORDERS

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. LacLume reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason.

  • Cancellations: Please review your order carefully. Due to our rapid fulfillment process, we may be unable to accommodate cancellation requests once an order is accepted.

  • Returns: Purchases are subject to return or exchange solely in accordance with our Refund Policy. Note that opened Mystery Jars are ineligible for return due to their surprise nature.

SECTION 4 - PRICES AND BILLING

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.

  • Taxes & Duties (International): Unless otherwise stated, posted prices do not include Value Added Tax (VAT), customs duties, or import charges.

  • Customer Responsibility: For international orders (including UK and EU), you are the importer of record. Any VAT or customs fees imposed by your local authorities are your sole responsibility and must be paid upon delivery.

SECTION 5 - SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

We are not liable for shipping and delivery delays. All delivery times are estimates only.

  • Priority Services: Selecting "Priority Express" or "Skip the Queue" options prioritizes the processing and handling of your order within our facility. It does not guarantee a specific arrival date, as transit is controlled by third-party carriers.

  • Risk of Loss: Once we transfer products to the carrier, title and risk of loss passes to you.

SECTION 6 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Our Services, including but not limited to all trademarks, brands, text, images, and the design of our Mystery Jars, are owned by LacLume and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or exploit any portion of the Services without our prior written consent.

SECTION 7 - OPTIONAL TOOLS

We may provide you with access to third-party tools (like order tracking) which we neither monitor nor have any control over. Use of these tools is entirely at your own risk.

SECTION 8 - THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Certain content, products, and services available via our Service may include materials from third parties. We are not responsible for examining the content or accuracy of third-party websites.

SECTION 9 - RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

LacLume is powered by Shopify. You acknowledge that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of the sales between you and LacLume. You hereby release Shopify from all liabilities arising from your transactions with LacLume.

SECTION 10 - PRIVACY POLICY

Your submission of personal information through the store is governed by our Privacy Policy.

SECTION 11 - FEEDBACK

If you send us creative ideas or reviews (Feedback), you agree that we may, at any time, without restriction, edit, copy, publish, and distribute such Feedback in any medium.

We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions relating to product descriptions, pricing, and availability, and to change or update information or cancel orders if any information is inaccurate at any time without prior notice.

You agree to indemnify and hold LacLume and Shopify harmless from any claim or demand made by any third party due to your breach of these Terms of Service.

In the event that any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful or void, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
